Earth Destruction Directive

Hello and welcome to Earth Destruction Directive, a Daikaiju Podcast! I am your host, Luke Jaconetti, and I want to take you all on a trip into the wild, woolly, and sometimes wacky world of Japanese giant monsters! We're going to talk about all your favorites -- from Godzilla, Rodan, and King Ghidorah all the way down to Gappa and Yonggary, and everyone in between! Plus giant heroes like Ultraman and Super Robots like the Shogun Warriors! This is Earth Destruction Directive -- let's get stomping! The show's logo was created by Eisner Award nominated artist Joey Weiser! Besides being a heck of a good artist, Joey is also a fellow giant monster fan!  You can check out all of his stuff, including the fantastic AA OGN series Mermin -- at his website, http://tragic-planet.com! Be sure to check out the Earth Destruction Directive Amazon List!  You can find just about all of the movies and comics discussed on the show there in one easy location!  Just click here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/UCEVDEU5NLT6/ref=cm_wl_huc_view "Even with radioactivity as a mere gimmick, American movie monsters can be seen as some kind of reaction to the bomb. In a Japanese context, the monster is less a reaction to the bomb than a symbol of the bomb." David Kalat, A Critical History and Filmography of Toho's Godzilla Series.
